Purpe
a river in Tiumen’ Oblast, RSFSR, left tributary of the Piakupur River (Pur River basin). The Purpe River is 327 km long and drains an area of 5,110 sq km. It rises in the Siberian Uvaly and flows to the northeast amid lakes and swamps. The river is fed by mixed sources, predominantly by snow. It freezes in October and thaws in May.
