Putila

 

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Putila Raion, Chernovtsy Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. It is located 42 km from the Vizhnitsa railroad station, the terminus of a branch line from the Chernovtsy-Ivano-Frankovsk line. Putila has a lumber combine, a butter factory, and a wool-processing factory.
