Kutkashen
a city (settlement until 1973), the administrative center of Kutkashen Raion, Azerbaijan SSR; situated in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus, on the right bank of the Damiraparanchai River, 63 km northeast of the Liaki railroad station on the Baku-Tbilisi line. Population, 7,000 (1971). There is a logging and timber distribution enterprise. Kutkashen has a people’s theater.
