(yo͞olyä`nəhôp'), town (1996 pop. 3,176), Qaqortoq dist., SW Greenland. It is a fishing port with canneries. Sheep raising, meatpacking, and sealing are other significant industries.

Centralization policies put into motion a distinct rural-urban geography in Greenland, which in recent decades has become increasingly focused around urban centers, such as Ilulissat, Sisimiut, Nuuk, and Qaqortoq.
