a city in southwestern Iran, located in the ostan (province) of Kermanshahan, near the border with Iraq, on the Tehran-Baghdad highway. Population, 16, 000. Qasr-e Shirin is an important trade and transportation center of a petroleum-producing region.

Tehran, Muharram 19, 1435, Nov 22, 2013, SPA -- A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck the town of Qasr-e Shirin, the capital of Kermanshah province, western Iran near its border with Iraq on Friday morning.
