Some of them are based on quantisation error compensation, such as Error Spectrum Shaping, or finding a filter structure less affected by these errors--Low-Noise Design via State Space Optimisation (Douglas, 1987).
This is done by utilising the quantisation error [qi.sub.k] of the vector elements, which is defined for each feature as the sum of the distances between the unit's weight vector mi and all the input vectors [x.sub.j] [member of] [c.sub.i], i.e.
This means that a low quantisation error characterises a feature that is similar in all input vectors to the weight vector.
Depending on the data and application, it is preferable to choose the region label based upon a low average quantisation error, a high mean value, or a combination of both.
But the ideal characteristic of ADC is fundamentally nonlinear reflecting quantisation error. Quantisation error limits efficiency of AIM, therefore in designed measurement system AIM is combined with dithering.
Besides the fact that the evaluation is simple, quantisation errors can be evaluated convenient in time domain.
Therewith, even quantisation errors are reduced [28] which is the main purpose of utilizing SOS direct-form II filter structures in this work (see Figure 2).
