the determination of numerical values for product quality indicators. The quantitative evaluation of product quality is used in selecting the optimal version of a product from several comparable versions; in studying quality changes over time; in planning, inspecting, and certifying product quality; and in establishing the choice of optimum decisions in controlling product quality.
