The usual sequence is hob, heattreat, straighten by grinding (shaft-type gears or by inner diameter honing if the gears are bore-type), and rehob with a solid carbide hob.
The sequence of "hob, heat treat, and rehob" places substantial demands on the accuracy and rigidity of the machine tools, on the quality of the hobbing cutters, and on the skills of the operators.

At the start of this year, Hong also created two new positions: Former Bank of America vice president Paul Rehob took over as the chamber's executive vice president in charge of government affairs and operations; and Carreiro, Hong's old friend from the HVCB, came aboard as senior vice president of sales and marketing.
