resolution advisory

A display indication given to the pilot by the traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS) recommending a maneuver to increase vertical separation relative to intruding aircraft. The resolution advisories include positive, negative, and vertical speed limit advisors. A resolution advisory can be either preventive or corrective.
