Reynolds, Robert Rice

(1884–1963) U.S. senator; born in Weaverville, N.C. A lawyer, he served in the U.S. Senate (Dem., N.C.; 1932–45). As chairman of the Senate Military Affairs Committee and a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, he opposed the U.S. entering World War II.
