Ritsa-Avadkhara

 

a climatic and balneotherapeutic health resort located in the mountains of the Abkhazian ASSR, 70 km from Gagra and at elevations of 950 to 1,600 m. Summers are warm, with an average August temperature of 18°C, and winters are mild, with an average January temperature of - 1 °C. Annual precipitation is 1,960 mm. A hotel and pension are open from June to September on Lake Ritsa. Avadkhara, where the treatment facilities are located, is 16 km southeast of Lake Ritsa. The water is bottled; it is used to treat diseases of the digestive organs.
