Rocha

 

a city in southeastern Uruguay. Administrative center of the department of Rocha. Population, 21,000 (1970). It is a railroad junction and the commercial center of a livestock-raising region. Agricultural products are processed in Rocha; for example, it has flour mills, fruit canneries, and wool-winding mills.
