Rossiter, Clinton (Lawrence), III

(1917–70) political scientist; born in Philadelphia. He taught at Cornell (1946–59) and wrote on subjects including colonial America, crisis management, and presidential power. Based on a series of his lectures, The American Presidency (1956) sold over one million copies.
