A simultaneous, or nearly simultaneous, discharge of shots from two or more closely placed guns or launchers against the same target.
The release of several bombs or rocket missiles simultaneously, or in close train, from one or more aircraft, at a single target.
The aggregate of shots, bombs, or rockets so discharged or released.

i. In air-to-ground armament delivery, firing or releasing all weapons of a type simultaneously, or nearly so. In certain cases, it also means firing or releasing more than one weapon of a type (e.g., a salvo of four rockets, or all rockets fired in salvo).
ii. A simultaneous group of ECM (electronic countermeasures) bursts from dispensed payloads. These ECM loads may not be of the same type.
