A selected special report. It is a special meteorological report of deteriorating or improving weather elements. An example of a SPECI for YUDO (Donlon/International), a fictitious location, is SPECI YUDO 151115Z 05025G37KT 1200NE 6000S + TSRA BKN005CB 25/22 Q1008 TEMPO TL1200 0600 BECMG AT1200 9999 NSW NSC. It means: a selected special report for Donlon/International issued on the 15th day of the month at 1115UTC; surface wind direction 050°; wind speed 25 knots gusting between 10 and 37 knots; visibility lowest to the northeast at 1200 m, visibility 6000 m to the south; heavy thunderstorms with rain; broken cumulonimbus clouds at 500 ft; air temperature 25°C; dew point 22°C; QNH 1008 hectopascals; the trend during the next 2 h is visibility temporarily 600 m from 1115 to 1200, becoming at 1200 UTC visibility 10 km or more, the thunderstorm ceases and nil significant weather and nil significant clouds. UTC stands for Coordinated Universal Time.
