(star -kat) Abbrev. for Space Telescope Archive and Catalogue, a large computer database developed at the Space Telescope European Coordinating Facility and the headquarters of the European Southern Observatory, both in Garching, Germany. It allows users to access data from a large number of astronomical catalogs and databases.
