Samara Oxbow

 

(1) An arched bend of the Volga River in the Tol’iatti-Kuibyshev-Syzran’ area that was formed as a result of the deviation of the Volga’s course by the Zhiguli Hills.

(2) The section of the right bank of the Volga bounded by the Samara Oxbow bend. The V. I. Lenin Volga Hydroelectric Power Plant is in this area.
