Samotsvet

 

a climatic and pelotherapeutic health resort in the Central Urals, 5 km from the Samotsvet railroad station in Alapaevsk Raion, Sverdlovsk Oblast. Summers are moderately warm, with an average July temperature of 17°C, and winters are moderately cold, with an average January temperature of - 16°C. Annual precipitation totals 400 mm. Therapeutic remedies include the use of climatotherapy and sapropelic mud from Lake Moltaevo. Disorders of the joints, bones, muscles, and nervous system are treated, as well as gynecological problems. Samotsvet has sanatoriums and a water and mud treatment facility.
