Šarec, Marjan,

1977–, Slovenian political leader and actor, b. Ljubljana, Yugoslavia (now in Slovenia). He had a career as a comedian and political satirist on radio and television before he was elected mayor of Kamnik in 2010. In 2017 he ran unsuccessfully for president against Borut PahorPahor, Borut
, 1963–, Slovenian politician, president of Slovenia (2012–). He became politically involved in high school and was active in the Communist League's reformist wing.

. He was elected to the parliament, and his List of Marjan Šarec became the second largest party in it, in 2018. He subsequently became prime minister of a five-party, center-left minority government, but resigned in 2020 because of the lack of legislative support.
