Sazandari

 

a folk-instrument ensemble, widespread in Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia, as well as in Iran and other countries of the East. It consists of a tar (a plucked string instrument), a kemancha (a bowed string instrument), and a tambourine. The tambourine player is also the vocalist.
