C12H18N2O35-Allyl-5-(1-methylbutyl) barbituric acid, a short-acting barbiturate; white powder with bitterish taste; very soluble in alcohol and ether, slightly soluble in water; melts at 82°C; used as a sedative and hypnotic, frequently as the sodium derivative. Also known as quinolbarbitone; Seconal (trade name).
