Sherwood Island State Park


Location:2 miles south of Westport (Exit 18 off Connecticut Turnpike).
Facilities:Picnic tables, picnic shelter, food concession, bathrooms, showers, pavilion, surf chairs (é).
Activities:Saltwater fishing, shellfishing, swimming, field sports, scuba diving, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park features large open fields and 1.5 miles of beach frontage on Long Island Sound. Park is a Viewpoint Exhibit Host Site, with outdoor exhibits that reproduce 19th Century works of art and provide information about the artist and the location.
