Shining Flower-Beetles

 

a family of small (up to 4 mm) beetles (Phalacridae). The body is oval, convex, smooth, and glossy. Phalacridae usually live and develop in the floral clusters of plants of the Compositae family. Some live on rust fungi. In all there are about 300 species, of which about 50 are found in the USSR.
