Notable exceptions are the translations of books by Shumskii (1964) and Tsytovich (1975) and papers published in the proceedings of seven international permafrost conferences.
This section is somewhat disjointed and descriptive, and it lacks the detail found in other Russian translations (e.g., Shumskii, 1964; Tsytovich, 1975).
