Szymon Askenazy(redirected from Simon Ashkenazi)
Born Dec. 28, 1866, in Zawikhost; died June 22, 1935, in Warsaw. Polish historian.
Askenazy studied at the universities of Warsaw and Göt-tingen. He began teaching at the University of Lvov in 1897 and was professor there from 1902 to 1914. In 1910 he became a member of the Kraków Academy of Sciences. Askenazy represented Poland in the League of Nations from 1920 to 1923. He wrote many works on the history of Poland in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
