Smith, (Osborne Earl) Ozzie

(1954–  ) baseball player; born in Mobile, Ala. In a career that began in 1978, he established himself as one of the greatest fielding shortstops in baseball history. Nicknamed "the Wizard of Oz," he played for the San Diego Padres and the St. Louis Cardinals.
