sound power

[′sau̇nd ‚pau̇·ər]
(acoustics)
The total sound energy radiated by a source per unit time, generally expressed in ergs per second or watts. Also known as acoustic power.

sound power

Of a source of sound, the total amount of acoustical energy radiated per unit time.

In the first step, the radiated sound power was measured as before.
where [L.sub.W,i] is the octave-banded sound power level, in dBA, radiated by the sound source relative to a reference sound power of one picowatt (1pW), [D.sub.c,i] is the directivity correction, in dB, in the direction from the center of the source to the receiver, and [A.sub.,i] is the combined attenuation, in dB, that is due to geometrical divergence ([A.sub.div,i]), atmospheric absorption ([A.sub.atm,i]), ground effect ([A.sub.gr,i]), a barrier ([A.sub.bar,i]), and miscellaneous other effects ([A.sub.misc,i]).
This HDD has a 104 dBA-guaranteed sound power level and an operator ear rating of 82.9 dBA.
The sound power level is calculated according well known equations [25].
Sound Power Level: The sound power of a source is its rate of emission of acoustical energy.
Moreover, for some of the elements where the sound power drop results from the reflections from this element backward, this drop is modeled as attenuated sound with no effect on the elements connected to it.
Plan B is based on Plan A, and the reactor adopted Box-in technique, so its sound power level has dropped from 85 dBA to 70 dBA, while the noise of transformer is invariable.
If we double the number of singers, we double the sound power, which raises the combined SL by 3 dB.
As simple definitions, sound pressure is 'how loud the sound appears to the ear', while sound power is the total amount of sound energy that the equipment radiates into the environment.
For target position measurement, we used the centroid of the detecting sensor positions weighted with detecting sound power. Our realistic detection model warrants no mismatch of detection between the tracker and the sensors deployed in the field.
The A-weighted overall sound power levels ([L.sub.WA]) of the noise emitted by interactions between vehicles and pavement are listed in Table 2 for a dense-graded asphalt (DGA) surface.
