Sovet Kendi

 

(The Soviet Village), a republic-wide Azerbaijani-language newspaper of the Azerbaijan SSR. Founded in 1923, the newspaper originally appeared under the name Kendli gazetesi (Peasant Newspaper). It was renamed several times and received its present name in 1958. It is published in Baku three times a week. Circulation, 170,000 (1975). Sovet kendi was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1973.
