Sovetskaia Mordoviia

 

(Soviet Mordovia), a republic-wide Russian-language newspaper of the Mordovian ASSR. Founded in 1918, the newspaper was originally published under the name Izvestiia Saranskogo Soveta rabochikh, krest’ianskikh i krasnoarmeiskikh deputatov (News of the Saransk Soviet of Workers’, Peasants’, and Red Army Deputies). It was renamed several times and assumed its present name in 1951. It is published in Saransk six times a week. Circulation, 75,000 (1975). Sovetskaia Mordovia was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1968.
