Sovetskoi Udmurtiia

 

(Soviet Udmurtia), an Udmurt-language republic newspaper of the Udmurt ASSR. Founded in 1918, it was called Gudyri (Thunder) until 1930. It was later renamed Udmurt kommuna (The Udmurt Commune) and assumed its present name in 1943. It is published in Izhevsk six times a week. Circulation, 24,500 (1975). Sovetskoi Udmurtiia was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1968.
