Soviet-Chad Agreements

Diplomatic relations were established between the USSR and Chad on Nov. 24, 1964. Agreements were concluded on cultural and scientific cooperation (June 11, 1966), on trade (June 22, 1967), and on cooperation between TASS and the Chad press agency (Jan. 23,1968). In a joint communiqué of June 27, 1968, both countries noted the progress made in developing friendly relations. Agreements were also concluded on economic and technical cooperation (Dec. 17, 1968), the establishment of a tracking station in the Republic of Chad for the optical observation of artificial satellites (Jan. 12, 1971), and air transportation (June 18,1974).
