Soviet-Kenyan Agreements

Diplomatic relations were established between the USSR and Kenya on Dec. 14, 1963. The two countries concluded agreements on trade (Apr. 29, 1964), on cultural and scientific cooperation (Apr. 11, 1964), and on economic and technical assistance in the construction of industrial and agricultural enterprises and facilities (Nov. 20, 1964).

The two countries also agreed on the construction of a hospital and the building of a technical school as a gift to the government and people of Kenya (Nov. 20, 1964). In addition, the two countries signed a protocol on the delivery of equipment, spare parts, and instruments for the hospital built as a gift to the government and people of Kenya in the city of Kisumu (Dec. 7, 1972).
