Splunk

Software from Splunk Inc., San Francisco, CA (www.splunk.com) that collects and analyzes machine-generated data in real time to derive operational intelligence. Splunk Enterprise is the local version, and Splunk Cloud is software-as-a-service (SaaS). Splunk MINT monitors mobile performance in real time, and Hunk (Splunk for Hadoop) is used for Hadoop and NoSQL data. Introduced in 2003, the name comes from "spelunking," which means to explore caves. See big data and machine-generated data.
