an urban-type settlement in Karakul’ Raion, Bukhara Oblast, Uzbek SSR. Situated on the lower Zeravshan River, in the Karakul’ oasis. Railroad station (Karakul’) on the Chardzhou-Kagan line. Population, 5,600 (1975). The settlement has a cotton-ginning plant.
