State Land Tenure Register

a document in which the state records of land tenure are kept. In 1954 a uniform system for the registration of land tenure in all territories of the USSR was established. The State Land Tenure Register includes lands owned by kolkhozes and state, cooperative, or public institutions and organizations; individual peasant farms and the lands of individual citizens; lands of towns and settlements granted in perpetuity or for a period of more than two years; and state land reserves and state forestry lands.

The register records information on the economic and legal condition of the land tenures and their total areas. The register also has information on the type of land and its condition for lands belonging to kolkhozes, state enterprises, and institutions and organizations engaged in agricultural production and for state land reserves.
