Stilwell, (Simpson Everett) “Jack”

(1848–1903) scout, peace officer; born in Tennessee. He moved to New Mexico and was an army scout (1867–81). He served under Col. Custer and other leaders in exceptionally dangerous ventures. He was a U.S. deputy marshal and a police judge in Oklahoma.
