the equipping of small or large subun-its or of ships with matériel, for example, combat equipment, ammunition, fuel, and food. The supply of troops is organized and conducted by corresponding services behind the lines according to the different types of matériel being provided. The requirements and adequate supplying of troops as well as expenditure rates are calculated in units of supply.
