a city (since 1954) and administrative center of Suvorov Raion, Tula Oblast, RSFSR. Situated 3 km from the Zbrodovo railroad station on the Tula-Kozel’sk line, 90 km west of Tula. Population, 18,000 (1974). Suvorov has a book-publishing technicum. The Cherepet’ State Regional Electric Power Plant and a factory producing bulk-type yarn are located near Suvorov, and coal and refractory clays are mined in the area.
