Svessa

 

an urban-type settlement in Iampol’ Raion, Sumy Oblast, Ukrainian SSR; located on the Svessa River. Railroad station on the Orsha-Kharkov line. Svessa has a plant for the manufacture of chemical equipment and pumps and a plant producing tanning extracts. A branch of the evening section of the Kharkov Machine-building Technicum is located in the settlement.
