Swiffy extension for Flash Professional to convert Flash to HTML
19 -- Earlier this year Google announced Swiffy, an online tool for converting Flash-based animations to HTML-based animations, with the intention to make it possible to use simple Flash based content in pure HTML based websites.
Now Google has created an extension based on Swiffy for Flash Professional, Adobe's solution for creating Flash animations and applications.
Earlier this year Google introduced Swiffy, a Google Labs project that could input any Flash animation, and output the corresponding HTML5 animation for it.
Swiffy is capable of converting SWF files created by older versions of Flash, best up to Flash 5, and can even convert some ActionScript 2 code.
Visit the Swiffy lab page and you will be asked to upload a SWF file, which their tool will then convert into a version that uses HTML, JavaScript, CSS and SVG; taking advantage of some of the latest web standards.
Swiffy converts the imported Flash animation into JSON, which is a JavaScript-based plain text data format.
