The same technique was used by Genedy [30] to strengthen RC
T-beams. The UHPFRC-CFRP system was applied to the top of the
T-beams using the same technique by Garner [29].
Table 2 shows the comparison between the finite element model prediction and measured natural frequencies for the first three modes of the
T-beam system for the case of the thin secondary beam.
Each span of the superstructure consists of four longitudinal
T-beam girders and five cross beams.
Although the saw worked well, ERI wore out six saw blades during the cutting operations because sawing next to the
T-beam stems wore edges of the blade out faster than anticipated.
The bridge has four 55-ft spans with eight
T-beam modules per span.
