TCP/IP network

(Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol network) Any wide area network (WAN), such as the Internet, or any local area network (LAN) that uses the TCP/IP protocol. TCP/IP, or just plain "IP," is the global networking standard. See TCP/IP.
