Taconic State Park - Copake Falls Area


Location:East of Route 22 in Copake Falls.
Facilities:46 tent campsites, 24 tent platform sites, 36 trailer campsites, 3 cabin areas (é), showers, picnic area, hiking trails, ski and snowmobile trails (10 miles), beach, playground, museum, visitor center, recreation programs.
Activities:Camping, hunting (with restrictions), fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, recreation and nature programs.
Special Features:Park includes trails leading to Bash Bish Falls, just over the Massachusetts border, and Brace Mountain, the highest point in the county. Iron Works Museum features exhibits about the iron industry at the former site of Copake Iron Works, established in 1845.
