Tacuarembó

 

a city in Uruguay, capital of Tacuarembó Department. Railroad station. Population, 29,000 (1963). Tacuarembó is the center of a large livestock-raising region. The city is also a trade center for wool, leather, and hides. Raw agricultural materials are processed.
