Tankhoi

 

an urban-type settlement in Kabansk Raion, Buriat ASSR. Port on the southern shore of Lake Baikal. Railroad station on the Trans-Siberian Railroad. Tankhoi has enterprises servicing the railroad and water transport systems. Since 1969 the Baikal Preserve’s administrative offices have been located in the settlement.
