Tarbosaurus

a genus of extinct giant dinosaurs of the super-family Carnosauria. Tarbosaurus, a terrestrial predator, was more than 10 m long and about 3.5 m tall when standing erect. The skull was massive and enormous—more than 1 m long. The teeth were powerful and dagger-like, suited for attacking very large animals, chiefly herbivorous dinosaurs. The forelegs were reduced and had only two complete toes; the hind legs were well developed and together with the powerful tail formed a support for the body. Tarbosaurus skeletons have been found in Upper Cretaceous deposits of the southern Gobi Desert in the Mongolian People’s Republic.
