Tat’ung

 

a city in China, in Shanhsi Province. Population, 335,000 (1959). It is an important railroad junction and a major center of coal extraction. Tat’ung has cement production, machine building (agricultural and transportation equipment, instruments, and heavy machinery), and food industry (flour milling and a creamery).
