the highest mountain peak of the Northern Urals, situated in the Komi ASSR. Tel’posiz rises to an elevation of 1,617 m. It is composed of schists, quartzite sandstones, and conglomerates. Up to elevations of 500–600 m, the slopes have taiga forests of spruce, larch, and birch; higher up there are mountain tundras.
