Tersa

a river in Saratov and Volgograd oblasts, RSFSR; a right tributary of the Medveditsa River (Don River basin). The Tersa is 249 km long and drains an area of 8,810 sq km. It rises in the Volga Upland. It is fed mainly by snow, and high water usually occurs in April. The mean flow rate 120 km from the mouth is 5.6 cu m per sec. In years of drought, the Tersa dries up for up to six months.
