Tetrao Urogallus × Lyrurus Tetrix

a bird, a hybrid of a female capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) and a male black grouse (Lyrurus tetrix). The hybrid is closer to the black grouse in size and color. It does not reproduce. It is occasionally found in areas where both species live together, but more frequently in areas where, as the result of excessive hunting, the number of male capercaillies has decreased sharply and the female capercaillies visit the mating grounds of the black grouse.
